PTO Points 5.28.15

GOOD-BYE 2014-2015
If you scroll through the previous posts of our site you will see how awesome this year was. Fitness for Funds, Spooktacular, 3 v 3 Tourney, Spiritwear Sale, Puttin On The Hits, All School Art Project. All of these value added programs, along with a tenacious Principal, incomparable Teachers and world class Staff, it is no surprise that CIS earned the coveted Ohio Hall of Fame Award for 2015. Our PTO plays a big role in the success of CIS. Without the time, talent and treasure of our parents,  none of our contributions would have been possible. At our HOF Celebration on 5.15.15 we handed out close to 400 prizes to the kids during the 6 lunch bells. The music was blasting, we had VIP Guests, our KNIGHT came to celebrate, and a good time was had by all. I wish I could personally thank every parent for making this school year so memorable.

But behind the scenes are the unsung hero's of our PTO Team who are the ones I want to personally call out: Shannon Russell, our Digital Manager, set up this website for this year and allowed for a new channel of communication with the parents of CIS. I think it worked as we had nearly 5800 views to our site! Very cool! Kicking off our school year was our Membership Team of Danni Poggi and Beth Renner, immediately following with the tireless Kristen Monroe, our VP of Fundraisingwho led the charge with Fitness for Funds and Spooktacular. What she pulled off in 6 weeks was nothing short of miraculous and I can't thank her enough. April Riveria was spot on fabulous as VP Programs, assisting with the in-school and after school activities for our students. Jen Schulz initiated our 3 v 3 Tourney and this event will help to sustain our Artist in Residence program. Karen Frecker graciously represented CIS at the District Council. Erin Deutch, Staff Appreciation Queen, made our staff not only feel appreciated, but also feel full after all the dinners she organized. Kroger laison Sylvia Lahni helped us TRIPLE our revenue from Krogers' Community Rewards Program. Trisha Sunderhaus did a fantastic job putting on an amazing POTH show.  Kelly McKiernan was our meticulous Recording Secretary. Shauna Smith as Parliamentarian maintained order with by-laws compliance. Belinda Douglas, as our Corresponding Secretary, was on the mark with Thank You cards and gifts when needed. Last but not least, a very big shout out to our Treasurer, Alicia Brockwell, the keeper of the coin, the one who manages a very large budget with professionalism and class. Thank you ladies for making my job as President just a little easier.

OUT WITH THE OLD. IN WITH THE NEW! It is with pleasure that I introduce Nyioka Phalen as your new PTO President. At our last meeting, our new board members were voted in and along with Nyioka, Erin Deutsch will be our new VP of Fundraising, and Trisha Sunderhaus was voted in as Corresponding Secretary.

Thanks for the memories. My daughter Chloe and I, along with the entire 6th grade class say Good Bye CIS!
