PTO Points 9.24.2015

Thank you to Alice Hall, Staff Appreciation coordinator, for organizing the first teacher/staff conference dinner last Thursday. A big thanks to all of the parents who donated items for this meal, as well. 

 Spooktacular
The annual Spooktacular fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th from 6-9pm. Erin Deutsch and the Spooktacular Committee have been working throughout the summer to bring a new and refreshed look to the carnival. See the "Save The Date Flyer" for more info! Programs
The Fall PTO Student Clubs schedule is now set. These clubs are held on Tuesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm and run from October 6th through November 10th. A flyer was sent home last Friday. A printable flyer is linked below. If interested, send in completed form by September 25th.

PTO Points 9.17.2015

    
PTO Communication
The PTO Points newsletter will be sent out every Thursday via the school messenger. It will be included in the CIS newsletter with a direct link. Click on the link to be directed to our weekly newsletter (blogsite). There have been some delays in the newsletters over the past few weeks due to the beginning of the school year transitions. Sorry for any inconveniences that this may have caused. This week's newsletter is a recap of the week before since many parents have not seen it. You may also read the week's prior PTO Points for any information that you may have missed.


Another good source of communication is the Kings Parents - Class of 2022 & 2023 Facebook pages. These are solely parent run pages, and are not produced by PTO or CIS. They were formed by parents to help children and parents get to know each other and share information. To join these pages, click on the link below to submit your email and an administrator of that page will need to add you as a member.
PTO Meeting
Our first PTO meeting of the year took place two weeks ago. It was a successful meeting with a great turnout. Feel free to read the PTO Meeting Minutes below if you were not able to attend. Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 8th at 7pm in the Art Room.

 Staff Appreciation

The Staff Appreciation committee will be providing dinner for the teachers during the upcoming conference evenings. The first of the three conferences will be held tonight, September 17th. We are still in need of help for set up. Please see the SignUp Genius link below. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

PTO Points 9.3.2015

PTO Meeting
Join us for our first PTO meeting of the year, tonight at 7pm! We will be discussing the start up of the school year including; budget, membership, the annual Spooktacular fundraiser and ways to get involved. Guest Speakers of tonights meeting include: Peggy Phillips and Kerry McKiernan with the McKiernan & Phillips for Kings campaign. Hope to see you there!

Membership
It's not too late! Please consider joining the CIS-PTO. It is a dynamic parent teacher organization that sponsors the many in-school and after-school programs offered at Columbia. To join, fill out a Membership Form and return with $10 cash or check payable to CIS PTO by September 4th. You will also be able to join during tonights PTO meeting.  
Volunteer
There are lots of events planned for this year and we would love to have the extra helping hands. Please take a moment to look at the volunteer opportunities located on the blog. Signing up is easy! Click on the Signup Genius link to view the many ways you can help.
