CIS PTO Points for 8/28/14

1. BAND/ORCHESTRA Meeting: Thur 8/28, 7:00 If you are a 6th grade parent, and your child is interested, please attend the meeting. You'll hear from the Directors and learn about renting instruments.

2. PTO MEETING  in the CIS ART ROOM, and then MEET AND GREET AT BUCK'S:  Thur 9/4/14, 7:00 pm,. You will want to come to our PTO meetings this year as we will feature guest speakers with relevant topics for your students. At our first meeting, we will have Karen Frecker, RN, who will speak about the right time to send your child to school or when to keep them home, due to an illness. Then after our meeting, lets get together at Bucks and celebrate our awesomeness.

3. MEMBERSHIP Drive ends 9/12. You want a School Directory, right! Don't miss your chance to get one, and support our great organization which provides great programs and great support to our great kids! How great is that!

4. KROGER REWARDS - If you shop at Kroger, and are not supporting any other fundraising group. please link here: https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards login to your Kroger Plus card (or create a login) and enter code 81346 and proceeds of your shopping will come directly to CIS!  Fundraise and not even realize it.... That's my kind of fundraiser!

5.  PICTURE DAY...you know it's WED 9/3.

6.  6TH GRADE CAMP MEETING: Mon 9/8 at 6:30

7.  5TH GRADE PARENTS CURRICULUM MEETING:  Tues 9/9 at 6:00

8.  6TH GRADE PARENTS CURRICULUM MEETING: Thur 9/11 6:00

9. FITNESS FOR FUNDS Planning meeting: Thur 9/11 7:00. Put this event on your calendar! Fitness for Funds is FRI 9/26 and we will need ALOT of parent helpers for the fitness stations during the several shifts throughout the day.  Check out this schedule and if you are able to help for an hour, (or more if you'd like!) then sign up here and claim your spot, as they are limited!

Knight Nation at the REDS



 On Thurs Aug 21, some CIS Knights made the trek to GABP to watch the REDS get hammered by the Atlanta Braves 8 zip.  Sometimes the score doesn't matter when you're at the ballpark with friends and having a good  time. GO KNIGHTS!

 

  

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2014-2015

Pretty sure the entire district of 5th and 6th grade families were at CIS last night. The enthusiasm was in the air, and cars EVERYWHERE, even parked on the lawn along Columbia....WOW! It was a sight unlike one I've ever seen at CIS.
If you were not able to sign up for PTO Membership, you have until Sept 12 to get your form in. Click on the FORMS tab above to print the Membership form. If you have a business, please consider including your business card for the Columbia Parent Network.

New to the PTO meetings this year: we will be bringing in Guest Speakers to present information relative to your 5th or 6th grader, so bookmark our site and calendar to stay in the know of when/where/what is going on at CIS Nation!

Welcome to 2014-15 CIS PTO

Welcome Back, CIS Parents!

On behalf of the CIS PTO team, I'd like to officially welcome you to the 2014-15 school year. Your PTO team has been diligently working hard to bring you a fresh look at what PTO offers and how our programs will benefit your students to bring them an exciting experience for their 5th and 6th grade years.

TWO IMPORTANT DATES

Paperwork day - Weds 8/13, from 3-5pm.  Bring in your forms and pay your school supply fees, and receive the class list of your student.

OPEN HOUSE - Mon 8/18, from 6:00-7:30 pm. Visit CIS, find where your classroom is, meet the teacher, and check out where your locker, library, gym, cafeteria and bathroom are!

PTO MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
There are 3 different ways to support our PTO this year:

School Directory - $5. When you support our PTO, you will receive a school directory full of valuable contact, school information and the CPN. A handy directory for your purse, computer bag, or desk at home.

Columbia Parent Network (CPN) - $10. Do you have a business? Share what you do with the families of over 600 students and promote your business for only ten bucks??? Yeah, you should!

Fundraiser Bundle - $100. With several fundraiser events throughout the school year, sometimes it's just easier to contribute in one fell swoop. The Fundraiser Bundle will cover 3 fundraisers: Fitness for Funds, Spooktacular and Spiritwear.

You have plenty of opportunities to complete the form and submit by our deadline of Sept. 12. We have a high goal for participation this year, and plenty of great new ways to support this important organization, so please support your child's school and join PTO!

KNIGHT NATION AT THE REDS!   
Let's start out the year with a bang! We have a limited number of tickets for the REDS vs Braves on THURS AUG 21 for $12, plus Meet Gapper! Tickets are first come first served, so at $12 each they will go fast! Bring the fam and hang with some Kings Knights at GABP. WHEN TO BUY TICKETS: Paperwork day, or Open House. Cash or checks to CIS PTO.
